We would like to take a moment to introduce ourselves and let you know a little more about who we are and where we came from.
BLAK Headwear Formerly known as Blak Apparel is the brainchild of two best mates, Andrew Buchan and Kane Lowen (B.L.A.K). Two tradesmen from the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, we shared a passion for snowboarding and hunting out quality headwear and apparel to wear whilst in the mountains.
From the frustration of constantly finding poor quality or kooky designs, BLAK Headwear was born. We wanted to create high-quality headwear and apparel that would hold up to the harsh conditions of mountain life without compromising on design. While spending a few months living in a small room above a karaoke bar on the outskirts of Hakuba, snowboarding by day and drinking Japanese whiskey by night, in 2014 our first range came to life.

BLAK Headwear now offers a range of quality headwear and apparel, designed with a strong streetwear influence which has been inspired by the big smoke of Melbourne City where we grew up and we couldn't have done it without all of your support!!

We would like to personally thank each and everyone of you that has purchased from us and all the crew out there that has helped us along the way to to get BLAK to where it is today. We are super excited to have our Winter Range live and we hope you all love it as much as we loved producing it.
THANK YOU and see you in the Mountains!!

Heading to Japan? Lucky you! Whether it's your first time heading overseas on a shred trip or a seasoned veteran checking through their kit, fear not we have put together a nice little list of what the team here at Blak Headwear have called the Japan Essentials.
The Japan powder factory is running at full capacity, it's cold deep and epic in Japan at the moment, that being said to maximise your shred time on the mountain during your holiday there are a few little items that are a must have in everyone's shred kit!
  1. Balaclava - Our Ninja Mask is the perfect balaclava for Japan, tested in the Hakuba Valley by the crew before we launched way back in 2014 our Ninja Mask will keep that blower Japanese pow off your face whilst scoring those Japanese pow slashes and be dry by the top of your next chairlift ride to do it all again.
  2. Necksock - Running Hot? Can't deal with the double layered head protection, one of our Necksocks could be the perfect option for you, unless you're sporting a mean beard, don't leave the face protection out of the kit that Pow is cold!
  3. Beanie - Take your pick, we have plenty. Thick weave beanies for those cold days, and thin weave beanies perfect for under a helmet or whilst running a Ninja Mask. All Blak Headwear Beanies are made from 100% Acrylic wool for maximum comfort and long lifespans, you can sleep easy our beanies once they are blown out and it cant be rescued with a whizz in the washing machine (This takes a really... really long time) are Recyclable.
  4. Hoodie - Our Cut Throat Hoodie is the perfect hoodie for your shred kit, made from super thick warm cotton it's super warm for layering under your outerwear on a cold day and equally as awesome lounging after your day of shredding.
